I just did something I've never done before. I watched the Daytona 500 race. (No, not at the track... I did it from the comfort of my sofa.) Before you think I've grown a rat's tail and started dipping Skoal, I not going redneck...it really was interesting. I'll have you know that it's the "Superbowl of racing." It's also the 3rd largest sporting event in the U.S.
Anyway... one of the commentators told an interesting story. Bill France and Junior Johnson, winner of the Daytona 500 in 1960, were having a conversation about being commited to a race. Junior's comment was...
"When you sit down to a breakfast of bacon and eggs; the chicken is dedicated, but the pig is commited."
What a great statement. :) Now that's what I call sacraficial giving.

i figured if NASCAR was so popular, I would give it a shot. There must be something to it. I settled into my couch one Sunday afternoon and found myself engroosed in the pre-race drama. The anthem was sung, the flag was waved and I was asleep by the third lap. Oh well. I tried.
This is funny...my mom came over yesterday to visit me while Bryan watched the race! Kenneth should feel very loved! LOL!
I didn't watch the "Superbowl" of racing, but I can relate to the chicken and pig breakfast deal!
Hopeful,
I have a comment: I think it's time you updated your blog profile to include Selah. Enough of the "I'm a...soon-to-be mother...". And THAT's what I think about Nascar racing! :)
True Sola! I'll update it... :)
