History was made last night. I salute our new president and, as always, will be praying for him, his family, and his administration.
I heard (through my husband) that a nationally syndicated Black radio talk show this morning was praising God for showing up at the election last night. As if God wouldn't have shown up if McCain had been elected. But on the flip side, I've been reading for months all these email forwards sent to me saying that voting for Obama equates to un-Godliness and while McCain isn't "our" knight in shining armour, Palin will make up for it.
That's like saying, "Halleluiah! The Packers won the Superbowl! God answered my prayers!" I'm so glad it's over.
Regardless of who is more moral, regardless of who is less Godly, regardless of agendas--be they "good" or not "good"... it's all ultimately irrelevant. GOD is still GOD. HE sits on the throne... He turns the hearts of Kings like channels of water in His hands (Prov. 21:1), He designs our nation's destiny, He is our Savior--not a president. Israel had Godly kings and Israel had un-Godly kings. But during both eras, there were people who still followed God. And God's purpose WILL still be accomplished.
So, what are we going to do now? Moan and bewail the fact that we can't rely on the government to get abortion illegalized? Or are we going to love the people in our own sphere of influence and demonstrate the life-changing power of God until people stop aborting out of their own free will?
Regardless of who was elected our president, we as the church still have a job to do.

Well spoken Hope! Now we just need to get this from our heads to our hearts and according to the Scriptures, "redeem the time for the days are evil."
Yes, amen. There's a lot to do!
