Toddler Poop And Bodily Functions

I just walked into Selah's room to get her out of the crib because she was up from her nap. As soon as I walked in the door, the powerful aroma of toddler poop hit me in the face like a hot pillow.

It had come out of her diaper, spread down her legs inside her pajama pants, and had partially dried. So now there were dried poop chunks all over and falling out every where she stepped. Of course, before the poop had time to dry, it seeped through her pajamas and put wet squish marks all over the sheets, stuffed animals, and soft books that were in the crib.

Needless to say, we had an emergency bath and the crib got stripped. I'm sorry to say so, but honestly, that's the most interesting thing that has happened to me today.

I was talking to a good friend the other day who has a newborn. I'm now almost seven months pregnant, and so we were talking about pregnancy constipation, the annoyance of it, and the need to manage it. (Don't worry, no more details.)

I was talking to another friend the other day about how surprising it is when your precious baby (now toddler) moves up to your face and blows stinky morning breath into it.

You know, I used to talk about directions in life, relationships, emotions, jobs, God-moments, and passions. Poop and bodily functions were just not common topics. It's so funny how varied your conversation becomes the more life you live.

Oh my Hope....that sounds like it was a mess. (on the bright side...at least the poop wasn't everywhere because she took her own diaper off and started playing in it.)

Oh thank goodness....I thought my daughter was the only toddler with stinky morning breath who took her diaper off and played with poo!

LOL... yeah Stacey, it could have been soooo much worse!

Melissa, you are not alone!

I have actually been known to put a strip of tape around the waist band of a diaper so that a child couldn't take it off and play in their poop. :o)

At least the poop wasn't intentionally "pasted" on the sheets :)

I've had a few of those days...several days in a row. One of my least favorite childhood "stages" :)

Lol...well...maybe I just have "spirited" children?? :) But I've heard similar stories.
