I've been reading The Shack by Wm. Paul Young lately. I LOVE it. The first four chapters were awful...but it's gotten a lot better. There's a lot of controversy over this book and it interests me. I find it interesting that a book that opens your mind to the concepts of God's endless love would be so slammed. Anyway... Here are some of my favorite lines so far:
Mack: "So what do I do now?"
Jesus: "What you're already doing, Mack, learning to live loved."
Jesus stood up and stretched, and Mack followed. "I have been told so many lies," he admitted.
Jesus looked at him and then with one arm pulled Mack in and hugged him. "I know, Mack, so have I. I just didn't believe them."
Mack was getting frustrated. He spoke louder, "But, don't I have the right to..."
Sarayu (Holy Spirit): "To complete a sentence without being interrupted? No, you don't. Not in reality. But as long as you think you do, you will surely get ticked off when someone cuts you off, even if it is God."
Jesus: "Mack, do you realize that your imaginations of the future, which is almost always dictated by fear of some kind, rarely, if ever, pictures me there with you?"
"Does that mean," asked Mack, "that all roads will lead to you?"
"Not at all", smiled Jesus as he reached for the door handle to the shop. "Most roads don't lead anywhere. What it does mean is that I will travel any road to find you."

I loved this book! I hope you love it too!
I am glad that it got better for you. The first few chapters of this book are hard, but without them, I don't think the rest of the book would have had the effect that it did. This is a great book!! I also love that it stretches peoples ideas of who God is and definitely "rattles" the box that everyone tries to fit God into. :o)
