New Environment

So, yesterday I led worship for a church in Lake Mary.

I've been on the worship team for many different churches over the years. In fact, as a child, my mom made me stand up and sing with her when she led worship. But I had only led worship at one church for the last couple years.

Yesterday's experience was great. It was really good to step out of a comfort zone and play with musicians I had never played with before. It was good to be forced to lead, correct, instruct, etc... when for so long now, I've played with musicians who know where I'm going before I tell them, because they've played with me for long enough. The worship was good and the church responded really well to it--and to the Holy Spirit, who was the real leader of the day.

I was kind of surprised with how comfortable I was in such a new environment. But really, I shouldn't have been. I had asked God to lead, and He did. So that really took the pressure off me. :)
